Could then begin adapting this to feel more glitchy and technical - to fit the tone of voice of analogue and rough inspired, yet at the same time sleek motion graphics to represent the underground music industry.
Although these particular experiments feel reflecting of the Arctic Monkeys album - so maybe I need to develop this in a different way.
I started pushing this concept of responsive animation to music.
And assigned the waves in different ways
- digital and analogue frequency waves
- left and right speaker or both - makes it sit above/below the line.
And even began experimenting with how the type and logos can bounce to the beat of the music.
- Perfect for an animated logo for on the Facebook header or in the corner of streams, outputs, etc.
I started pushing these simple animated concepts away from audio waves and more towards just repeated linear patterns - thinking about how this could be a simple yet engaging background for flyers when overlaid and positioned in different ways.
- as the sharp contrast of black and white exaggerates the content and when animated can liven up any output.

With the repeater tool on After Effects I was able to create intricate appearing yet actually very simple patterns.
Repeating the vectorised shape and then being able to play with the trail opacity and rotation/movement over time. I created these patterns which were all created to be play in time with trippy techno samples playing over the top..
The rotation within the repeater was very fun to experiment with - as you could delay each repeated line slightly to create this trail effect, like a spinning 3D Helix..
- Definitely want to play with this further and see what I can create by adding coloured duplicates, etc.
