603 - Brief 02 - Process of Motion Flyers (6)

For the last flyer, I got bored and wanted to take a completely different approach again. But that is the point of the motion flyers, they can be diverse in style and approach - as long as they engage the audience in a new way and evolve the brand in an interesting direction (whilst obviously allowing the audience to easily link back to the platform, it doesn't matter!
This flyer being for Livsey and J69, I wanted to take a slightly weird approach, really exaggerating the whole glitch and malfunctioning style / early analogue television aesthetic. Being inspired by the new season of Black Mirror too which has just been released when I made this, I wanted the flyer to build hype in more of progressive way, than fully in your face. It builds tension, like you're waiting for something to happen, like in Black Mirror - it is unpredictable and eery. Similar to some of the samples in Livsey's songs actually..

Tried to be inspired by the overlaid compositions of Sam Earles - referenced previously in my visual research.
- I used the diagonal zig-zag pattern experiment and then overlaid this with the spinning logo and a contrasting blue window (very glitchy and unstable) featuring the main info - in a very analogue digital style.

- the type is Nova Mono to really accentuate the retro digital style.

Stage by stage of the animation:

Glitchy intro - I really went to town with experimenting with eery static sound effects.
Mimicking that of the old VCR tape-recorder
- also referenced on the green-screen motion graphics
Intro to the DJs (out-dated placeholder text)
Works its way up to the allocated time slot of the stream and the date.
- Constantly building tension with the eruptions of static and then quiet plateaus
Glitches out
And then settles on the promo link. With an accompanying flat-lining sound.

Final Outcome: ADDDD THIS*******
