Third Flyer Idea:
For the Revamp flyer I wanted to try and represent that quick and quite busy electronic vibe you get from Acid House Music, quick electro and break-beat. I wanted to continue my experiments with composition created by the inspired stock-footage clips - strategically placing variously shaped canvases around the square to create new potential layouts.
I produced all the compositions in normal colour, with white backgrounds to begin with, knowing that my intention was to invert everything in the end - to give it that bold contrast through the black and the electric colours (swabbed from each piece of footage ofcourse)
The eye and kite combo feel especially surrealist and bizarre. And the overall X-ray aesthetic feels very reflective of the energy coming from crazy acid house.
I think the jagged audio waves and their flashing opacities add to this overall energetic and underground vibe well. Appearing quite glitchy with the continuous flashing and jittering.
I love the colours created from the invert in this one too - it is definitely most vibrant and electric.
So I could feed this back to the DJs and get more of their input on this one, I provided various other options of edited stock-footage.
These ones providing more purples, oranges and browns which just didn't provide as much impact as the over-saturated red, orange and blue.
I tried to mix up the moods created by the footage by experimenting with moody looking storm clouds and on the other end of the spectrum - more tropical, leafy videos.
After sitting down with the DJs from the label, we could comfortably decide that the first option was most impactful
- looped with a crazy acid roller tune by Dynerac.
