Firstly I started by making the head-sizes more consistent before I started to experiment with how I could different set the text. On the lighter colours the type was immediately lost as main the focus point of the poster. For this reason, I tried using a darker stroke colour around the type to create more of a contrast..
With the whole caption beneath the head it does appear too simple and un-considered. Taking away any sort of complexity the design may have previously had. I trialled how splitting it up would appear but caption lengths made this difficult to obtain consistency not to mention how the type alone (feat. coloured stroke) on a coloured background reflected a child's poster rather than one you see on your first day of uni!
For this reason I have decided to keep experimenting with the type over the face and this time will stress how the eyes and mouth are the two main features on your face which depict emotion, so it is those that the line-spacing between text needs to reveal.
Next, I went back and removed the border as suggested and I do much prefer the appearance of the designs. I also quickly trialled a white inner border to add to the colour balance but again it was unnecessary for the function of the design..
Next I began adjusting line spacing on the quotes to provide more space for the mouth and eyes to be visible and also re-shifted the words on each line to ensure they most appropriately fit around the shape of each face. I also added an underline featuring on one word within every poster, applying the stress on that word when you read it. Lastly, I checked the kerning on each (ironic) paying particular attention to the word 'kerning!' to provide an insight into it for the freshers!
