I have many inspirations around how I am going to work the colour scheme for this publication. I am keen on keeping a strict colour scheme which usually focuses around a few certain colours, either similar or contrasting. The examples that have stood out the most to me involve a themed colour - with max of two variations of tone. Then mixed with mainly desaturated images and a white stock to keep it strict and themed. I feel this has worked very well in previous projects but may consider a different route with this one.
Some examples even have the images washed with the featured colour as well.. This looks effective but would it be suitable in my editorial magazine??
Then again, I am fond of being very expressive with the use of colour. You can communicate some strong messages about your style of design and the context you are focusing on through the use of colour..
I think the below example best reflects the route I will experiment with within this editorial project. Featuring off-white pages with a pastel-y feature colour accenting pages and also featuring as a background colour on specific pages. As I plan to try and enhance the active negative space within the publication to better attract readers attention to the imagery and type being used.
The below example makes use of the pink accents with the article headings and page numbers within them..
