A couple of weeks ago I was inducted in the Rossington Print Room at the Verner Street campus on 3 different types of Bookbinding techniques, that can thus be taken forward into experimentation for my publication designs, etc within this module.
3 three different binding techniques are:
- Japanese stab stitch
- Saddle stitch
- Accordion book
The workshop was very useful for me as even though I only learnt three new ways of binding, they are very diverse basic techniques which can be applied differently for different experimental projects. As oppose to the simple staple on the spine that I would've previously used in publication design, this has given me the chance to actually apply the saddle stitch to my small publication design (will be documented on this blog soon)
