We got set the task to redesign the cover of one of Christie's iconic novels and submit it to the Guardian Online competition. This was in order to exercise our use of colour theory and typographical communication, but also to see how we'd get on in the competition!
After reading the synopsis of the novel I knew I wanted to communicate warm, holiday colours - sandy orange tones and baby blue skies. Complimented by hidden, more mysterious objects which will only become clear once into the story. E.g. Is there a husband-killer or wife-killer?!
The bold type is sans-serif in caps, with a shadow, so it stands out of the sand.
