STAR OPTIONS
-1ST SQUARE WITH BORDER
Motion on the margins will draw the 3 screens together in the space and create a nice consistency. But upon receiving feedback on this we decided we wanted the images to be full bleed and hard-hitting, sat as the main focal point on the screen with no distractions.
SIDE SCREENS
The full bleed square option (no border) :
- changes colour to ensure visibility and contrast with the image
I then tried out some other options looking at how the colour from the images can influence the colour of the type, to introduce a stricter more relevant colour palette for each image:
- also considering how we could cancel out the first intro slide for the middle square screen, and just have the logo transitioning onto each picture
- this would make the middle screen that little bit more impactful as the stand out image cycle.
- I carried out some layout experiments, considering how I can get some consistency through the intern title on each picture:

After these experiments, I got in touch to explain where we were at and how I can send samples over later that evening to begin development.

Previews were sent via whatsapp to speed the process up.
As the response from Alec evidences, I quickly had to understand how this was a live brief with a client which had deadlines in the real world! We had to work quickly within a short turn around time, so it can be confirmed and sent over to Vice a week in advance before the exhibition..
