Now that my basic mockup is complete and I have my dimensions set with a plan for what content will be relevant for each section; it is time for me to move onto InDesign and start properly experimenting with the page structure and how the publication is going to flow in terms of its context.
The first section will be rather text based and measures 100mm x 140mm, with 8mm margins and 2mm bleed for print. This will provide an introduction to the city of Belgrade, including various facts and a map of the city.
The second section will follow this with my various photography of the city, giving you a better insight into the cities grungy characteristics, setting the scene. It measures 130mm x 190mm, also with 8mm margins leaving enough of a strong border (in relation to its small scale) for the pictures to sit inside of, side by side across the spread. Including that 2mm bleed for experimentation with full bleed images.
The third section of the publication, again being very text based will introduce a more detailed rationale to the images. Uncovering how my research for the photobook involved the countries historical artistic influences and thus how the graphic design industry isn't as developed as it is in the western world. This section fits across the bottom width of the publication, measuring 180mm x 100mm with 8mm margins and 2mm bleed again.
The last and largest section of the book, the fourth section, follows with my more specific 'Type in Context' imagery displaying the various sources of typography throughout the city, predominantly in the form of shop signage, etc. Being the main structured size, it measures 180mm x 240mm, this time with 12mm margins, taking into account the larger size of this section to reduce the chance of the larger images looking too squashed on the page when side by side on the double spreads. Also with that 2mm bleed to allow me to consider full bleed imagery to mix the flow of the pages up abit.
