504 - Type in Context - Foiling

With my pre-prepared fabric screen I carried out various tests across different stocks and also with book-rim. You pull the texi-flock glue through the screen onto the paper and let it dry before applying the foil and putting it in the heat press. The image below shows how I can properly align the word over the 3 sections as you can just about see the different sections stock colours through the screen..

I trialled it on book-rim (just for the case-bound possibility), also across my white stock mock up and then on the coloured stock and mockup aswell. I wanted to trial how well the glue would pull across the various layers of weighted paper and also how easy the 'g' splits across the two sections...

The tests went very well and I have learnt that I do need to pull back and forth properly for the glue to work most efficiently on the 'g', because of the contrast created by the 270gsm stock on section 1. The gold foiling does appear very appropriate with the colours and I do feel like it perfectly brings the whole cover together along with the other elements which will be printed.
