- Estudio App? - phone and laptop compatible? links to every page, links to blogger
- Soundcloud App ReVamp - restrictive in comparison to website WHY?
- Tackle the problem of how an artist can be different and release their new music in an interactive way? With interactive album art, info straight from the studio, lyric snippets, links to social media, tour dates, etc - Develop it into an app design - inspiration from the Jay Z Magna Carta Holy Grail App from a couple of years ago.
- Tackle the problem of efficient public travel through the city centre of Leeds, prioritises pedestrians and safety, promotes a healthy active lifestyle, and cuts air and noise pollution. Introduce a Public Bike Scheme in Leeds - design the app and interface at bike drop-off points, entirely digital base advertisement/interactivity
- Digital based informative posters? Event posters and detailing? Animated Ads? Magazines? Newspapers - TA - for people living in rural areas with no local shop for example
- Student Planner App (The Art Student App) - keeps all work, deadlines, found articles/research/links to instagram & behance organised, events linked through social media, money planning, etc all in one place.. Needs to feel easy to use, users are quite lazy when it comes to inputting information into an app and then working out how it works most effectively in the long run, so it would need to be very concise and welcoming for the confused student!
I have started research some of these idea in more depth to hone in on the stronger ideas..
Idea 1
Tackling the ever growing problem of the need to be different and the need to gain the most exposure to be successful in music industries. I started thinking about how this could develop into a growing concept for artists to make their releases more individual to the fans and hype them up in the weeks / months / years before hand!
I was inspired by an app brought out for the release of Jay Z's twelfth solo studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, hip hop star Jay Z partnered with Samsung to shake up the music industry and change the game. Through the Magna Carta Holy Grail mobile app, a million free albums would be distributed exclusively to Samsung Galaxy users three days before the LP became available to the rest of the world. The free app also featured behind-the-scenes video content of Jay Z and his collaborators in the studio, and allowed users to unlock never before seen track lyrics through social sharing. The video shows navigation through the app and when I used it I could recognise how it its user interface was nice to use, but could have been organised in a much clearer manor for all users to access the information in the most effective order and layout.
