Floor Guide
21 / 01 / 16

So I wanted to provide an informational piece of signage by each of the ground floor lifts. Giving a guide to the flats on each floor and just showing how the coding for flat numbers work. As I already had my basic template it was easy to keep it consistent. I experimented with the layouts here abit more, thinking about how I could best fit the information in its space whilst considering negative space and the form created by prioritising functionality.

Obviously I kept the white on purple design but I experimented with how it would fit over the top in relation to the rest of the info. I really enjoyed playing with where the block numbers would be placed, with the 'Liberty' brand identity next to it.
I did consider other styles of design, but crit sessions suggested to me how I should just keep it consistent and modernist to appeal to the target market of the varying ages of university freshers.

This layout inspired the bottom sketch above.

On CAD I narrowed it down to two layouts which can either be used, dependant on the space available by the lifts. It incorporates the whole colour scheme and functionality is clearly what has influenced form, therefore sticking to my original aims of creating a consistent, most efficient way-finding system for Liberty Park.
